Hike the trails at Inks Dam Hatchery

With 6 trails ranging from easy to difficult, there's something for everyone! Be sure to pick up a map at the start of all the trails.

Riverwalk Trail - .42 mile - Easy 
This is a paved trail along Lake LBJ. At the end of the trail hikers can double back along the ponds to extend their walk.

Ashe Juniper Trail - .18 mile - Easy
This is a short trail that passes the Bird Blind & a Chimney Swift tower as it passes through a variety of trees.

 

Meadow Trail - .27 miles - Easy

This trail passes by several remnant building foundations that were part of a National Youth Administration Camp in the 1930's.

Pecan Grove Trail - 1.26 mile - Moderate

This trail passes along the hatchery ponds, crosses Peters Creek and loops around the Pecan Grove. 

 

Crosscreek Trail - .32 mile - Moderate

This trail through the woods passes through a quartzite field and several wet weather creeks and washes.

 

Overlook Trail - .24 mile - Difficult

This trail is short, steep, rocky, and ends at the highest point on the property. The view at the top is spectacular!
